Who We Are…

Founded in the fall of 2009, Tri-Valley Wedding Professionals (TVWP) began as a simple idea: create a space where our local wedding vendors could truly connect. At the time, most networking events were held in San Francisco, making it difficult to build meaningful relationships with professionals in our own backyard. We wanted to change that. We needed to unite the Tri-Valley wedding community and strengthen the bonds between those of us working side by side.

In the early days, TVWP was all about casual drop-in networking during two-hour evening meetups. Over time, as our community grew, so did our vision. We evolved from casual gatherings into a format that combines networking, education, and dinner - offering more value and creating opportunities for both personal growth and professional development.

Like so many, we took a pause in 2020 during COVID, but came back strong in 2022 with a renewed passion for connection. Today, TVWP continues to be a cornerstone of the Tri-Valley wedding industry, and a place where relationships are built, ideas are shared, and our community grows stronger together.

More Than Just Networking…

“I have never been someone who regularly participated in professional organizations. Early in my career, I attended a few networking groups and industry associations, but I never really saw a meaningful return on the time invested. For whatever reason, Tri-Valley Wedding Pros has been different.

Part of that may be the size of the organization. Part of it may be that many of the members are people I already knew or had crossed paths with throughout my career. Whatever the reason, the meetings have consistently provided value.

The biggest impact has been the exchange of ideas. Even after decades in the wedding industry, I have found myself learning new approaches to marketing, promotion, networking, and client relationships. The conversations and presentations have encouraged me to rethink some long-standing habits and try new strategies. In several cases, those changes have directly influenced how I promote my business and connect with potential clients.

Beyond the business side, I have appreciated the sense of community. Wedding professionals often work independently and spend much of their time focused on serving clients. Having a group of local professionals who are willing to share experiences, support one another, and genuinely celebrate each other's successes has been refreshing.

I photographed my first wedding in the late 1980s, so I have been part of this industry for a very long time. In all those years, Tri-Valley Wedding Pros is the first professional organization that I can honestly say has made a noticeable difference in both my business and my outlook. I am grateful to be part of the community and look forward to continuing to learn from and contribute to it.”
